This medication and Heartgard Plus contain the same active ingredients (Pyrantel and Ivermectin).

They eliminate heartworm larvae (Dirofilaria immitis) in the tissue stage for a full month following infection. They also control and treat roundworms (ascarids - Toxascaris leonina and Toxocara canis) and hookworms (Ancylostoma braziliense, Uncinaria stenocephala, and Ancylostoma caninum).

Sold in 6 or 12 month supplies based on your dog's weight. Boxes are color coded as follows:
- Blue: 1-25 lbs
- Green: 26-50 lbs
- Brown: 51-100 lbs
What are the side effects of Tri-Heart Plus Chewable Tablets?
The most frequently reported adverse reactions include:
- Hypersalivation
- Convulsions
- Staggering
- Ataxia
- Mydriasis
- Diarrhea
- Anorexia
- Vomiting
- Lethargy
- Depression
In a low percentage of treated dogs, neurological or digestive effects could occur.
What special precautions are there?
- Keep away from children.
- If accidental human ingestion occurs, seek emergency medical attention.
- Your dog should be tested for existing heartworms prior to Tri-Heart treatment. This medication is not effective against adult heartworms. Infected dogs should be treated to remove adult heartworms and their microfilariae prior to treatment with Tri-Heart.
