How does Methio-Form Chewable Tablets work?
Methio-Form Chewable Tablets contain DL-methionine. They are effective in acidifying urine in cats and dogs. Urinary acidifiers are indicated when the urine's pH is too high, which can cause crystal and struvite stone formation. Over time, it may help to dissolve struvite stones. DL-methionine is a urine-acidifying amino acid. It may also help in the treatment of some types of bladder stones.

What are the side effects of Methio-Form Chewable Tablets?

What special precautions are there?
Do not give to animals with any of the following conditions:
- Urinary obstruction
- Uncontrolled diabetes mellitus or any other acidotic conditions
- Severe pancreatic disease
- Severe kidney disease
- Severe liver disease
Use caution in overdosing animals to avoid chronic over-acidification as this could cause problems such as:
- Precipitation of non-struvite minerals in the urine
- Heinz body formation
- Osteoporosis
- Potassium wasting
- Acidosis
